Lights, Carols, Action! Community Shines at 30th Civic Light Up

PRINCE GEORGE – A cherished holiday tradition illuminated downtown Friday night as hundreds gathered to celebrate the official kickoff of the season. For three decades, the Civic Light Up has united families, and this year, the community truly came together.

The Canada Games Plaza buzzed with festive energy as the 30th Annual Civic Light Up welcomed a large crowd of residents ready to embrace the holiday spirit.

The main events began at 6 o’clock with the much-anticipated lighting ceremony and the arrival of Santa, who delighted eager children by posing for photos. Horse-drawn carriage rides circled the plaza, offering a classic holiday experience, while free ice skating kept the rink bustling throughout the evening.

As the night unfolded, live music and choir performances filled the air, spreading Christmas cheer. It was a bright beginning to the season and a heartwarming reminder of what community celebrations are all about.
