Spruce Kings clobber Rivermen 6-1 in divisional matchup

LANGLEY — Carter Hesselgrave scored two goals to lead the Prince George Spruce Kings to a 6-1 win over the Langley Rivermen in Langley this (Feb.3) afternoon.

Hesselgrave now has 16 goals on the season for the Spruce Kings who outshot the hosts, 39-36.

Mason Loewen, Ryan Wachtel, and Cooper Faughnan had the other Spruce Kings goals. Colin Reay picked up the win in net before 1,019 fans at George Preston Arena.

The Spruce Kings – now winners of six games in a row – have jumped into first place in the Coastal East Division – one point up on Coquitlam, who have one game in hand. The Spruce Kings are 22-13-1-0.

They are back on the ice Wednesday night when they travel to Coquitlam to play the Express.
