Spruce Kings fall 4-3 in overtime

COQUITLAM — The Coquitlam Express defeated the Prince George Spruce Kings 4-3 in overtime Wednesday night before 308 fans at Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre in Coquitlam.
Mason Loewen sent the game into the extra frame when he potted his 10th goal of the year with just over six minutes to play in the third period. Tai Ushio scored two goals for the Spruce Kings and now has 22 on the year.
Ryder Green was stellar in goal blocking 30 of 34 shots. Prince George generated 14 shots of their own.
Coquitlam and Prince George are now tied for first place in the BCHL’s Coastal East division though the Express have one game in hand.
