11th annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Night another success

PRINCE GEORGE — Over $218,000.

That’s how much the 11th annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Night has raised so far.

Proceeds will go to support student-athlete scholarships and bursaries. This year’s event featured hockey executive Brian Burke, former NHLers Dan Hamhuis and Eric Brewer along with the Keeper of the Stanley Cup and the 4 Nations Cup – Phil Pritchard.

Over $68,000 was raised in honour of the late Curt Garland. The newly established Curt Garland Leadership Award will be awarded annually to a member of the Timberwolves Student-Athlete Society who embodies Curt’s spirit of humility, service, positive influence and philanthropy.

“After 11 years one theme remains unmistakably clear: UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Night continues to be a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together,” added UNBC Timberwolves Director of Athletics and Recreation, Loralyn Murdoch.
