Prince George’s Jared Young named to Team Canada for World Baseball Classic

Jared Young is once again set to represent Canada on the international stage after earning a spot on the national roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The Prince George product, now a utility outfielder with the New York Mets, was officially named to the 30‑player lineup on Feb. 5 and will compete when the tournament gets underway in early March. Young previously played for Canada in the 2023 Classic and delivered one of the team’s few offensive highlights with a solo home run against the United States.
