PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings have signed Mike Hawes to a four-year contract extension.

The team says his current contract is set to expire on May 31, 2026 and add the new contract will keep him with the team until May 31, 2030.

Hawes has been with the Spruce Kings since the 2005/2006 season and has been the General Manager since 2010/2011.  Hawes was named the BCHL Executive of the Year in 2019 when the Spruce Kings won the Fred Page Cup (now Rogers BCHL Cup), and Doyle Cup before finishing second at the National Championship.

I’m happy to sign Mike to a new contract. We are very lucky to have him as he strives to improve our players and staff.  He has a great reputation within the league, and that has helped our organization develop into a premier program in BCHL. I look forward to the future successes that are ahead of us,” said team President David Keough.
