Snowfall warning in effect for Prince George area
PRINCE GEORGE — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Prince George area, with up to 15 centimetres of snow expected to fall late Sunday (March 15) morning into Monday morning.
The warning also covers the Bulkley Valley and the Lakes, Stuart-Nechako, Williston, Pine Pass, and McGregor areas as well as the Highway 16 and Highway 97 corridors.
“A frontal system will approach the central interior of BC on Sunday. Snow heavy at times is expected to develop on Sunday and persist through Sunday night,” Environment Canada said. “Heavy snow will taper off or change to rain showers Monday morning.”
The weather office says the accumulating snow will likely make roads and walkways difficult to navigate. There may also be reduced visibility at times and people are being urged to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
