Look to the heavens with northern BC’s largest telescope
Mar 31, 2026 | 1:00 PM
Did you know that Prince George is home to a 24-inch telescope- the largest in northern BC- that is regularly used for scientific discoveries? Since the 1980s, the Prince George Astronomical Society has maintained the facility and telescope, often opening it to the public to view the night sky. We paid a visit to the observatory to learn more about this interesting piece of equipment!
Observatory open houses are held every Friday at 7:45 pm until April 24. Space-themed presentations start at 8:00 pm. Admission is by donation. The observatory is located at 7365 Tedford Road.
