Vees beat Cougars in Game 3
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars blew a two goal lead to fall 5-3 to the Penticton Vees in Game 3 of the team’s second round playoff series before 5,370 fans at the CN Centre Tuesday night (April 14).
Aiden Foster and Brock Souch both scored in the second period to give the Cougars the lead but the Vees came back with two goals of their own to end the period – the first from ex-Cougar Matteo Danis and the second from Ryden Evers.
Penticton took a 3-2 lead in the third with a goal by Brady Birnie though Dmitri Yakutsenak tied the game at 3. The Vees took a 4-3 lead on another goal by Birnie with 1:53 left on the clock then Jacob Kvasnicka scored into the empty net to make it 5-3.
Penticton outshot the Cougars 29-21. The Cougars now lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 set for Wednesday night at the CN Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
