Wright sets sights on mayor’s chair in early campaign launch

Mackenzie – A Mackenzie councillor is taking the next step in his political career. Jesse Wright has officially announced he will run for mayor, saying he is ready to make public service his full-time focus.

Wright is starting his campaign well before Mackenzie’s next municipal election. He says his interest in politics began long before he joined the council, and now he feels prepared to take on the top job.

Wright says he will focus his campaign on communication, economic development, and helping Mackenzie manage financial challenges. The next municipal election is set for October 17, 2026.
