UNBC Timberwolves soccer teams unveil 2026 Canada West schedules

PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves men’s and women’s soccer programs have released their 2026 Canada West regular season schedules, with both teams set to host multiple matches at Masich Place Stadium against some of Western Canada’s top competition.

The Timberwolves men’s team will play a 16-match schedule, including eight home games in Prince George.

Men’s team set for busy 16-game slate

UNBC opens its campaign at home on Friday, September 4 against Thompson Rivers University, followed by a matchup with the University of the Fraser Valley on September 6. The team remains at Masich Place Stadium the following weekend, hosting Trinity Western University and UBC.

Steve Simonson’s squad will face a challenging stretch later in the month, hitting the road for matchups in the Lower Mainland before travelling east to the Prairie Conference to take on MacEwan University and the University of Lethbridge on September 25 and 27.

The Timberwolves return home for key fixtures against the University of Alberta and Mount Royal University on October 2 and 4. They will close out the regular season with home games against the University of Victoria and UBC Okanagan on October 23 and 25.

UNBC enters the season looking to build on a strong 2025 campaign, as the program continues its push toward a playoff berth in the highly competitive Canada West conference.

Women’s team opens with extended homestand

The Timberwolves women’s team will play a 14-game schedule, evenly split between home and away matches.

Head coach Neil Sedgwick’s side will also kick off its season at home on September 4 against Thompson Rivers University, before hosting the University of the Fraser Valley on September 6. The opening homestand continues the following weekend with matches against Trinity Western University and UBC.

After a series of road games through the Lower Mainland and Okanagan, UNBC returns to Prince George for several key late-season matchups. The Timberwolves will host UBC on October 4, before wrapping up the regular season with home games against the University of Victoria and UBC Okanagan on October 23 and 25.

The women’s program will be aiming to continue its climb within Canada West as it looks to remain competitive in one of the country’s toughest conferences.
