PRINCE GEORGE — Pride celebrations will take centre stage in Prince George on Saturday as the community gathers for the 29th annual Pride Parade and a full day of festivities celebrating diversity, inclusion and the region’s vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Organizers have released the official route for the 2026 Pride Parade, which is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 4. The parade will begin beside Prince George City Hall before making its way through downtown streets and ending at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park, where participants will join the Pride Picnic and festival activities.

The route will take marchers along George Street to 5th Avenue, then east on 5th Avenue to Queensway. From there, the parade will continue along Queensway to Upper Patricia Boulevard, proceed north on Upper Patricia to Ash Street, and then travel along Ash Street before connecting to the Heritage River Trail.

The parade will conclude behind the bandstand at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park, where organizers will complete de-staging operations and transition directly into the Pride Picnic, presented in cooperation with the Northern BC Queer Connection Society.

Organizers say this year’s parade is more than a colourful community event. It serves as a celebration of love, identity and self-expression while recognizing the contributions and experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals across Northern British Columbia.

“Get ready, Prince George, Pride is back and bigger than ever,” organizers said in announcing the event.

Residents are being encouraged to line the route, wave flags and show support for participants as they make their way through the city. The annual parade has become a staple of Prince George’s summer event calendar, bringing together community groups, allies, families and local organizations in a show of solidarity and inclusivity.

Following the parade, attendees can enjoy the Pride Picnic and festival activities at the park, creating a full day of celebration and community connection.

Organizers invite everyone to take part in the festivities and help make the 29th annual Pride Parade a memorable celebration of pride, acceptance and belonging in Prince George.
