UNBC, Faculty Association ratify new four-year collective agreement
PRINCE GEORGE — The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and the University of Northern British Columbia Faculty Association (UNBC-FA) have ratified a new four-year collective agreement, concluding a round of bargaining that both sides describe as collaborative and constructive.
The agreement was negotiated under the Province of British Columbia’s Balanced Measures Mandate and in accordance with the bargaining mandate provided to the Faculty Association by its members.
The UNBC Faculty Association represents approximately 375 faculty members, including professors, instructors, lecturers, sessional lecturers, librarians and senior lab instructors.
“Our members overwhelmingly ratified the agreement, with 96.4 per cent in favour,” said UNBC-FA President Dr. Paul Siakaluk. “Both bargaining teams worked cordially and diligently to get a fair deal. The UNBC Faculty Association is pleased that a collective agreement was reached with our employer earlier this month.”
