Update: City of Prince George dealing with widespread server outage
PRINCE GEORGE — Update: The City of Prince George says the server issue is now resolved at all sites. A power failure in one of the City’s two data centres led to the outage.
The City’s IT division has several capital projects underway to help prevent future outages, including annual maintenance, upgrades, and new technology.
Earlier: The City of Prince George is experiencing a server outage that is affecting operations at all City facilities, including City Hall and the 18th Avenue Yard.
According to a media release issued Wednesday, the outage is disrupting phone services, email communications and network-related applications across City sites. As a result, calls and emails sent to the City’s Service Centre are currently not being received.
