Two homes damaged in fire

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: Prince George Fire Rescue crews responded to a major residential fire Thursday evening that caused an estimated $300,000 in damage to two neighbouring homes.

Emergency crews were called to the 1600 block of Pine Street at approximately 5:50 p.m. on July 23 following reports of a structure fire.

Firefighters arriving on scene from three fire halls encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from two adjacent residential buildings. Crews quickly launched an attack on the fire to prevent it from spreading further and were able to bring the blaze under control.

According to Prince George Fire Rescue, the fire was successfully extinguished before it could cause additional damage to nearby properties.

The two residential structures sustained significant damage, with preliminary estimates placing the total loss at approximately $300,000.

Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries were reported among residents, members of the public, or fire personnel who responded to the incident.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation. Fire officials have not released any additional details about where the fire started or whether anyone was displaced as a result of the blaze.

The fire broke out at around 5:30 p.m. at Pine Street and 16th Avenue. No word yet on the cause or if anyone was injured.
