Fired up for feedback, UNBC student wants to hear from riders
PRINCE GEORGE – Wildfires in northern B.C. don’t just burn trees. They damage mountain bike trails, cause closures and evacuations, and fill the air with smoke. Now, a UNBC student researcher wants to find out what this means for local riders.
Student researcher Taryn Atkinson is inviting mountain bikers from north-central B.C. to join a study about how wildfires affect them. She’s looking for riders aged 18 and up who live in places like Prince George, Williams Lake, Valemount, and Burns Lake.
“My study is based on mountain bikers,” Atkinson said. “And who better to talk to than mountain bikers themselves?”
