Mackenzie council candidate Kathleen Westergaard pitches industrial renewal, housing maintenance and wildlife safety
MACKENZIE — District of Mackenzie council candidate Kathleen Westergaard says economic development, better use of existing resources and improved public safety are among the key issues driving her campaign.
Speaking with CKPG News, Westergaard said she decided to run for council because she believes the community needs stronger advocacy and a renewed focus on addressing long-standing challenges. One of her top priorities is finding ways to return idle industrial properties to productive use.
“We’ve seen a lot of different types of industry leave Mackenzie over the years,” she said.
