Canada dumps Australia 79-30 at women’s wheelchair basketball worlds

OTTAWA — Canada defeated Australia 79-30 in women’s group stage play Thursday at the IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships at Carleton University.
Kady Dandeneau led Canada with 33 points. Arinn Young had 20 points and Cindy Ouellet chipped in with 16.
Georgia Munro Cook had 13 points for Australia.
Canada opened the tournament Wednesday with a victory over Spain. The Canadian men’s team (1-0) was scheduled to play Germany on Friday morning.
