Axe attack under investigation in downtown Prince George
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP are investigating an alleged axe assault that left a security guard with minor injuries in downtown Prince George.
Police say the incident happened just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue. According to investigators, a security guard was conducting routine patrols when they encountered a group made up of three men and one woman. An altercation reportedly followed, during which one of the men attacked the guard with an axe.
The victim sustained minor injuries to their hand as a result of the assault.
The suspect is described as a man wearing a black hoodie and brown pants. Police say he was riding a black or red bicycle and was last seen heading toward 5th Avenue through the alleyways between 3rd and 5th avenues.
