Quesnel RCMP seek witnesses in fatal hit-and-run

QUESNEL — Quesnel RCMP are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run earlier this month.

Police were called to Highway 97 South near Yellow Market shortly before 3 a.m. on October 5 after receiving a report of a man sitting along the road.

The man was taken to hospital with what initially appeared to be minor injuries, but later died. Investigators determined his injuries resulted from a hit-and-run.

RCMP say their investigation identified a red 2023 Volvo tractor-trailer as the vehicle that struck the man. The vehicle has since been located and its driver identified.
