Civic facilities need attention

PRINCE GEORGE – Mayor and Council may have some tough decisions to make when it comes to some of the City’s facilities.

A long-awaited report with an assessment of all 53 facilities was released this week. It looks at everything from the conditions of the roofing to the electrical system and the structure as a whole. A number of those facilities are facing deficits.

It got Council thinking of its options.

“We’re going to have to make some tough decisions and one of the things we’ve talked about was to fix the roofs on some of those buildings so we get a little more life so that we can get some more time for people to use them,” says Councillor Frank Everitt. “And then put a strategy together to replace some of them.”
