Downed Hydro Line Causes Grass Fire

PRINCE GEORGE – A small grass fire was ignited around the noon hour Wednesday, near the intersection of Johnson Road and Parsnip Road, after a hydro line broke. Four fire trucks along with fire personnel from the Pineview volunteer fire department responded to the blaze.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames. According to Fire Chief Lyle Wood, the downed hydro line did cut power to the airport, but the power was restored later in the afternoon.

The Fire Chief is reminding the public to take extra caution as conditions are very dry outside, increasing the risk of fires.
