Warm Weather Brings Haze

PRINCE GEORGE – The Central Interior and much of the province is looking ahead to some very warm weather over the next week or so.

Heat advisories have already been issued for the Fraser Valley,  South Coast, and Central Coast areas.  Here in Prince George,  forecasted highs into the 30’s are predicted for later this week with a high pressure ridge anchored off the West Coast..

Its expected air quality may decline as well, as quite a haze hangs over Prince George.  According to UNBC Meteorologist Peter Jackson it’s hard to say the if the haze is due to humidity or smoke in the area,  but he expects without wind the air quality will worsen through the week.

BC Hydro has some alternatives to beat the heat,  including ceiling fans, pulling inside shades and closing doors and windows once the outside air becomes warmer than that inside.  Hanging clothing outside instead of using the dryer and cooking outside on the barbeque or camp stoves are a couple of other low cost ideas to keep your home cool.
