Nomination Packages Available Friday For RDFFG & SD57
PRINCE GEORGE – With Election Day just under three months away, nomination packages will be available on Friday for elections in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and School District 57.
Those considering to run as an Electoral Area Director for the RDFFG or a Bear Lake Local Community Commissioner can pick up a nomination package at the RDFFG website or office, Bear Lake Community Commission Office, District of Mackenzie office and the offices of the Villages of McBride and Valemount. Nomination packages will also be available on the RDFFG website or office for anyone interested in running as a School Trustee for SD57. In the case of the School Board this year, residents will be considering a ward system, which includes five trustees from Prince George, one from the Mackenzie area and one from the Robson Valley.
The nomination period for RDFFG and SD57 begins at 9 am on September 4th and closes at 4 pm on the 14th. Those interested in running for local office or school trustee must be a Canadian citizen, 18-years-old or older, B.C. resident for at least six months, not be disqualified by the Local Government Act or School Act and run and finance their campaign according to provincial legislation.
