PRINCE GEORGE – July 24th has been recognized as International Self Care Day since 2011. The day was created to make people think about their mental and physical health.

Don’t forget to do something that makes you happy on Tuesday. July 24th was chosen as the date to represent International Self Care Day as a reminder that we need to take care of ourselves twenty-four hours a day.

Also known as ISD, the day was created to make people stop and think about how they’re really doing. Exercise can be used on both sides of the scale with a mental escape and aiding in a healthy lifestyle. As hard as it can be sometimes, adding physical activity into your everyday schedule can be a very important part of self-care. 

ISD is all about the little things, eat that piece of cake you saw in the bakery window, have a spa day or clear your mind with a run. But mentally it may take a little more than a bowl of ice cream to change the way you feel inside.
