PRINCE GEORGE – With an expected opening date of after the long weekend,  final work continues on the Masich place stadium, but there are growing concerns about how accessible the track will be to the public.

Mayor Lyn Hall says the current proposal will see the track open from early in the morning until early in the afternoon.

Prior to the 4.8 million dollar renovation,  the track was open to the public all day.
Now the city plans to move operations of Masich place to align with that of the CN Centre or Rolling Mix Arena,  where user groups can walk during certain hours but public access will be cancelled should a different user group rent the facility.

X – RX Exercise Prescription and Fitness trainer and owner Katie Paolucci has started an online petition with the hopes of getting the track open from dawn to dusk.  She says she’s spoken to other local trainers and residents who are concerned the track hours don’t fit the needs of the community.
