PRINCE GEORGE – Right now, there a ragtag collection of garden beds in behind the residences at the University of Northern BC. But, with some financial help from the Province, the Prince George Public Interest Research Group wants to bring it back to life.

“We want to teach people how they can grow here, what they can grow, what they can do with small spaces, what they can do with large spaces,” summarizes Drennen Hallett, the intern for Grow North. “We want to offer really good workshops and seminars that provide good information.”

The first seminar will be on May 30th and it will be on how to build a raised bed. Those beds, in turn, will be used to conduct future seminars on a variety of subjects, like companion gardening, creating the perfect soil and the like.

Hallett will be at the downtown Farmers’ Market on Saturday if you wish to get more information.
