Evacuation Alert Update In CRD

QUESNEL – In the Cariboo Regional District, an evacuation alert has been issued for the Narcosli Creek area north to West Quesnel. All City properties west of the Fraser River are on evacuation alert, due to the Narcosli Creek fire. As of Friday, the fire, which is about 31 kilometres southwest of Quesnel, is burning at 3,100 hectares. On scene, there are 30 firefighters, two helicopters and six pieces of heavy equipment. 

181 properties are under an evacuation alert from Mayfield Lake north to Buckley Drive and west to the Fraser River. The alert is due to the wildfire southwest of Springhouse. 

There are 396 properties in the Hawkins Lake and Eagle Creek area under an evacuation alert as well. This alert is due to the Lang Lake fire. 

Moving over to the 100 Mile House area, there has been an evacuation order issued for the Houseman Road area. It’s located about 12 kilometres northeast of 100 Mile House. The evacuation route is Kaluza Road and/or Houseman Road to Canim-Hendrix Lake Road to 100 Mile House. Residents are encouraged to register with Emergency Support Services (ESS) at the Community Hall in 100 Mile House at 240 Third Street. With an evacuation order, you must leave immediately, close all windows and doors, shut off all gas and electrical appliances, close gates but don’t lock them, gather your family and take essential items (medicine, wallet, keys, etc).
