VANCOUVER – Communities across the province are starting to get some new buses from BC Transit. The buses will support accessibility and more seating for passengers. Three 35-foot Vicinity buses will be delivered to Prince George in September, five ARBOC Spirit of Mobility buses will go to Fort St. John, two going to Hazelton and two to Clearwater in August. The ARBOC buses have 17 to 23 seats and space for up to four wheelchairs. The cost of each ARBOC bus is about $240,000. The 35-foot Vicinity buses seat 30 passengers with room for 24 standees at a price tag of $347,000 each. The new buses are part of a federal and provincial investment of almost $160 million.
