Isle Pierre Shut Down

PRINCE GEORGE – Canfor has become a casualty of the wildfires. It’s Isle Pierre operation has been shut down this week due to a lack of log in the log yard due to the wildfires. 

“Due to the extreme fire weather in North Central BC, the vast majority of harvesting activities had been halted in the region west of Prince George,” Canfor wrote in a statement. “As a result, the log inventory at Isle Pierre Sawmill was depleted. 

Operations at the mill were suspended on Tuesday. Harvesting activities have resumed this week. The company says it is “optimistic” operations at that mill will resume on Monday, September 10th.
