SMITHERS — The first baby born in the North this year was born in Smithers.

Northern Heath says Baby William Ross was born at Bulkley Valley District Hospital at  1:01 a.m. today (Jan.1) to mom Nikki and dad Will, of Stewart B.C.

Baby William weighed in at six pounds, 14 ounces and was also welcomed into the world by his big sister, two-and-a-half-year-old Avery.

“Baby and mommy are both happy and healthy and are resting,” dad Will told CKPG News. “His full name is William Douglass Grant Ross, named after his grandpa and great grandpa.”
