PRINCE GEORGE – 2018 was a record-breaking year for organ transplants in BC with more than 500 being performed. For the Woodford family, the record has a very important meaning.

Matthew Woodford was a music lover. He played the guitar regularly and would ask his parents for a piano every Christmas. He was known for being a positive guy and being able to light up a room with a joke.

Mattie, as his family called him, was known as a giver. That giving attitude and spirit led Matthew to become an organ donor. After a fire left him severely injured, Matthew’s organs went on to help four people continue living their lives.
