UHNBC makes Newsweek’s ‘Best Hospitals in Canada’ list
PRINCE GEORGE— The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) ranked 84th out of the 85 Canadian hospitals on Newsweek’s list of best hospitals in the country. One thousand hospitals were selected for the study worldwide, based on recommendations from medical professionals, patient survey results and medical performance indicators. The study ranked UNHBC with 74 points out of a possible 100 points.
“We’re pleased with our quality performance,” Regional Manager, Public Affairs and Media Relations at UHNBC Eryn Collins says. “We do follow up instances where improvements are required. Our quality measures are usually provided for quality improvement purposes rather than hospital-to-hospital comparisons. There’s a lot of variables that can affect results when you’re comparing facility-to-facility based solely on something like the number of beds that facilities have.”
The Toronto General Hospital topped the Canadian list with 91.1 points.
