According to the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction, substance use cost the Province $4.8 billion dollars in 2014. The number one substance abused was alcohol, and it appears more women than ever are dying from alcohol related causes.
PRINCE GEORGE - There are no big changes with the unemployment rate in the Prince George area. It stood at 5.8 percent in July. That's considered flat by Stats Canada officials who compare the rate over 12 months.
PRINCE GEORGE - An evacuation alert for the 52 homes northwest of Vanderhoof has been cancelled. The alert was put in place Wednesday by the Bulkley Nechako Regional District because of the threat from the Dog Creek Trail wildfire.
