PRINCE GEORGE - There are no big changes with the unemployment rate in the Prince George area. It stood at 5.8 percent in July. That's considered flat by Stats Canada officials who compare the rate over 12 months.
PRINCE GEORGE - An evacuation alert for the 52 homes northwest of Vanderhoof has been cancelled. The alert was put in place Wednesday by the Bulkley Nechako Regional District because of the threat from the Dog Creek Trail wildfire.
PRINCE GEORGE - Canada turns 151 today and celebrations are planned throughout the area. Entertainment begins at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park at 11:00 am although things will pick up with the Opening Ceremonies at noon.
PRINCE GEORGE - The Prince George Chamber of Commerce says they're concerned that the Province hasn't given enough information and clarity to the public along with the business community, in order to make an informed decision in the upcoming referendum on Proportional Representation.
