Matilda Katherine Ann Hamblin
New
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Matilda Katherine Ann Hamblin on August 26, 2026, at the age of 74.
Katherine is lovingly remembered by her husband, Glenn, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and companionship. She is remembered by her daughters, Delta (Ken) and Michelle, and by the grandchildren, Emaleah, Sydney, and Elliot, who were among her greatest blessings and brought immense joy to her life.
Katherine is also survived by her younger sister, Rosary, and family, and her older brother, Mark, and family, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Katherine was predeceased by her beloved parents, Matilda and Jacob; her brothers, Peter, Keith, and Robert; her sister, Helen; and her grandson, Lorne. While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and reunited with those who have gone before her.
In Katherine’s personal life, she was known for her kindness, unconditional love, and resilience. Her laughter could brighten a room, her wisdom offered comfort during difficult times, and her love created a home where family felt welcome. Throughout her professional career at Mackenzie District Hospital, she was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and exceptional work ethic.
Katherine’s legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the faith she shared, and the love she generously gave to her family and friends. As we say goodbye, we do so with sorrow, but also with hope. We trust that Katherine has found peace in the presence of God and that one day we will be reunited with her.
