Words from her mentor:
In the year 1973, Nilfa, joined our church planting ministry in a small town called Pulupandan, in Negros Island in the Philippines closed to the ocean and eventually became the first Christian Reformed Church in the Philippines last 1976. Nilfa, was a new graduate then from a Baptist Bible Institute where my father (Rev. Leo del Carmen) was the Director. After Nilfa finished her Bible school training, my father introduced her to us. He told us that Nilfa was one of the most dedicated and passionate young graduate who demonstrated her faith by example.
We invited Nilfa to join our church planting ministry with joy and gratitude to the Lord upon meeting her! God sent us a beautiful (inside & out) young lady with a wonderful & humble personality. God sent us just the right person we had been praying for. Someone who love the Lord with all her heart and soul! Someone who was always joyful and loves to work with children as well as the young people. She also assisted us ministered to the older groups willingly. God blessed Nilfa with a good voice too. Aside from her love to serve the Lord, she was a friend to many. She always had a ready smile for everyone she met along the way.
Nilfa was everybody’s friend and confidant, a loving sister to me and my husband. We thank God for her faithfulness, gentleness and kindness! “SHE HAS DONE A BEAUTIFUL THING!”
