Filmmakers of Prince George!
CKPG is looking for submissions of locally produced, all-ages-appropriate short films for our inaugural Northern Shorts Film Festival.
Select submissions will air during a televised special October 10 on CKPG TV.
Guidelines
Submissions will be selected by a jury of broadcast professionals. Submission of your short film does not guarantee a spot in the broadcast. You will be contacted prior to broadcast on whether your submission has qualified for air.
Submissions must be between 90 seconds and 7 minutes, including credits. Click here for suggested credit format.
Amateur/first-time filmmakers are welcome, but submissions must be broadcast quality to be considered for use. The broadcast will be in 1080p (1920×1080). Submissions should be in the same or higher definition and exported in MP4, MXF, or MOV formats.
Short films that have been previously premiered or entered to other festivals are welcomed to be submitted as long as they meet our guidelines.
Submissions should also include a short description of your film, please keep under 150 words.
Submissions should also include proper documentation for all music. Submissions will be rejected if music does not have proper documentation. Do not use copywritten music.
All local bylaws and regulations should be followed in the making of your submission. Any submissions found guilty of trespassing, or performing dangerous or illegal activities will be rejected.
Content of submissions must be all-ages-appropriate, as the broadcast will air during daytime hours. CBSC guidelines are available here: https://www.cbsc.ca/codes/
Submitting your short film gives us non-exclusive rights to use during the broadcasts and in materials to promote the broadcast. We may air as a repeat broadcast after the premiere date of October 10th.
We reserve the right to reject any submissions that do not meet our requirements.

The deadline for completed submissions is September 4. Incomplete submissions will be rejected after the deadline.
