Cougars tender to wear the leaf once again
For the second time in the last year, Taylor Gauthier will be representing his country in international play.
The Calgary-born Cougars goalie is one of three netminders on Team Canada’s roster for the upcoming Under-18 World Hockey Championship being played in Sweden from Thursday, April 18th to Sunday, April 28th.
Gauthier last flew the Canadian flag in August, when he backstopped Canada to a gold medal in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He also played on Team Canada White at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.
Gauthier is one of three goaltenders on the roster and one of two from the Western Hockey League. Alongside him is Nolan Maier of the Saskatoon Blades and Jonathan Lemieux of the QMJHL.
