Art Battle returns to Prince George, Studio 2880 seeking local artists to compete
PRINCE GEORGE – It’s been 3 long years since Art Battle last came to Prince George. In years past the speed painting showdown event has been a major success, drawing in an audience from all across northern BC, as homegrown artists duke it out on the stage of the Knox Performance Centre, in a people’s choice competition, complete with post-show silent auction.
The event is a real who’s who in the local art scene, and it’s the perfect opportunity for up and coming artists to push their boundaries and sharpen their skills as against the whetstone of a live audience.
Art Battle is a international speed-painting competition. Starting at the city level, 12 artists go head to head over 3 rounds of live painting. The winner is chosen by vote from the audience, and the top spot moves on to the next stage of the competition, where the local champs duke it out at the Provincial, and then National levels, before the National winner earns a spot in the Art Battle World Championship.
