PRINCE GEORGE — Icy road conditions lead to a pair of multi-vehicle incidents on Highway 97 north Thursday afternoon (Dec.18).

Prince George RCMP say both crashes occurred approximately 5 kilometres north of Summit Lake. The first was a two-vehicle crash while just north of that incident, a five-vehicle crash.

No word on any possible injuries. Mounties urge drivers to drive to road conditions which means driving the speed limit or maybe even slower leaving generous gaps between you and the vehicle in front of you, and ensuring that your lights are on.

The highway is currently open to single-lane alternating traffic. Check Drive BC for road updates.
