Sears Canada Granted Permission To Liquidate Remaining Stores

Sears Canada received court approval today to proceed with a full liquidation of its remaining 130 stores, putting another 12,000 employees out of a job, including 66 employees from the Prince George Pine Centre Mall location . Despite weeks of discussion, no viable buyer has been found. Sears Canada is expected to begin the liquidation of its inventory as early as October 19th.
