Fatal Accident Closes Highway 16 Near Chilako River Bridge

Highway 16 is closed in both directions near the Chilako River bridge due to a fatal accident that happened around 12:45 this afternoon. The highway will be closed for the next few hours. An alternative route has yet to be determined. Emergency crews are on scene investigating.

According to RCMP, one individual was killed and two others were sent to the hospital with undetermined injuries. Police are asking for the public’s assistance for further information.
