PRINCE GEORGE — The BC Natural Resources forum began this morning at the Civic Centre with an opening keynote from Perry Bellegarde, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
Bellegarde spoke to a packed house on the importance of relationship building between the public sector, the private sector and Indigenous people. He says with over six hundred First Nations through the country and billions of dollars of natural resources to draw upon now is an important time to get the dialogue open.
Prince George Cariboo M-P Todd Doherty is echoing Bellegarde’s message, saying industry, government and First Nations need to work as one to send the message to global partners that Canada is open for business.
