Snowmobiler Dies In Avalanche

A 54-year-old man has died in an avalanche while snowmobiling near the Village of Valemount. 

The RCMP has confirmed a man from Alberta was sledding in an area near Clemina Creek, south of Valemount when he was killed by an avalanche on Tuesday, January 30th.  

Emergency crews were notified of the avalanche by a SPOT activation device.  The Robson Valley Search and Rescue, RCMP, and BC ambulance responded. 
The man was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. BC Coroners is now leading the investigation.
