Earth Hour Sees Decline In Participation In BC

PRINCE GEORGE- Tomorrow, people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour to show their support for The World Wildlife Fund. It hosts the annual event that raises awareness for climate change and energy conservation.
But, a new report from BC Hydro shows BC residents aren’t participating like they used to. Last year, residents cut power use by just 0.3%. That’s only 15% of the energy savings recorded in the first event in 2008.
Earth Hour is tomorrow evening from 8:30 until 9:30. You can check how much energy you saved on your BC Hydro account when you compare this Saturday’s energy use to last Saturday.
