PRINCE GEORGE- College Heights Secondary’s annual exchange program with Daito Bunka Daiichi High School in Tokyo, Japan takes place this week. The two-week exchange sends kids from College Heights to Japan in February to live with a Japanese student. Then, the Japanese students come to Prince George to live with their Canadian students in March. “On their forms they have to do a personality test,” said teacher Alison McNeill, “they talk about what their personality traits are, and they also talk about their interests, what kind of sports they like, the music they like, and we do the best we can to match them based on those things.” It’s all part of College Heights Secondary School’s Japanese program, students are required to take an introductory course before they leave to learn the basics of the language and are required to do a final project.

Earlier today the group learned how to curl. They’ve also visited Vancouver, toured UNBC, stayed overnight at Ness Lake, and will attend a few classes at CHSS this week before returning to Japan at the end of the week.
