PRINCE GEORGE – Former Prince George Cougars Captain Brock Hirsche has died following a battle with testicular cancer.  Hirsche was diagnosed at 23, while playing with the University of Lethbridge.

Chemotherapy and radiation treatments failed to stop the cancer. Hirsche played parts of 5 seasons with the Cougars before retiring from the Western Hockey League because of shoulder injuries.

He returned to the game at the University level and played three seasons with the Pronghorns, becoming their Captain in the process.
