Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale returns to Prince George

Oct 13, 2026 | 10:48 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — Book lovers will have a chance to stock their shelves while supporting the Prince George Public Library when the Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale returns October 16 and 17.

The popular sale will offer a wide selection of books by donation, with all money raised going toward library projects, programs and resources in the community.

The sale begins Friday, October 16, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with early access exclusively for Friends of the Library members. An annual membership costs $5 and includes access to the special shopping period.

The doors will open to everyone Saturday, October 17, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Organizers say the event gives readers an opportunity to discover new authors, revisit old favourites and find unexpected additions for their collections, while giving donated books a new home.

Money raised by the Friends of the Library supports projects benefiting library users and the broader Prince George community.

The Prince George Public Library operates the Bob Harkins and Nechako branches, along with online resources and programming. The library says approximately 700 people visit its two branches each day.
