Big Comedians Coming To Small PG Venues

PRINCE GEORGE – Some big comedians are set to hit the stage in Prince George over the next couple of months. Corner Gas creator and star Brent Butt will perform at Sonar this week. The Canadian comedian is playing two shows in Prince George on Friday and Saturday. Just 150 seats are available, and Butt says he’s excited about the smaller space.

“A comedy club really is the best setting to see standup, in my money, there’s something about the physicality of it. You know, it’s big enough that it’s a good size audience, but it’s a small enough room that you don’t have to play to the size of the venue,” says Brent Butt, Canadian comedian.

Next month, another major comedy star is coming to PG, you may have heard of him… Jerry Seinfeld. Seinfeld takes the stage at the almost six thousand seat CN Centre May 17th. Sonar owner Jason Luke plans to contact Seinfeld’s people to see if he will donate some time to do an intimate set at Sonar.

Butt thinks it’s a great idea: “I absolutely think he should show up and I wouldn’t be surprised if he did,” says Brent Butt, Canadian comedian.
