Liberal Leadership Candidates Making Northern Promises
With a BC Liberal leadership debate scheduled Saturday in Prince George, candidates have begun streaming into the city. And they’re bringing promises with them.
Thursday morning Mike de Jong called a news conference to say he will decentralize government services to regions across the province. He would start by moving the Office of the Chief Forester to Prince George. The office is currently located in Victoria.
Without revealing any specifics, Todd Stone said he’s committed to a comprehensive plan, to support rural BC families. Thursday afternoon, another candidate, Dianne Watts is promising to make an important announcement for northern BC during a news conference at UNBC.
